Oktober and Novembur

So yeah, it has been quite a while since i’ve updated. Been getting a bit lazy with this thing. Nearly 2 months worth of stuff to talk aboot. Lets see.

October. The month of my birthing extraction. So sometime in the beginning of this month I was invited to play poker with Alice and Shawn over at someones house (names have escaped me). Ate, drank and had fun. I ended up donating $10 to the poker cause, haha. I’ve still got lots to learn about ye ole Poker. I’d play again when I have $10. October 11 rolls around and I turn 27. Who knew right? That same day I went to Atlanta with friends Stephanie K, Brad J, and April M or D (whichever freaking last name she uses). We headed out and made our way to IKEA so that I could return some stuff and we stayed there for a while, actually a long while. Once done, we went over to Fellini’s Pizza which was soooo good. Thanks Stephanie. Our next stop was the Brookhaven Art Festival. Took us a while to get their, kinda got lost. We got their just before it was gonna end. Saw some cool art, April found her a Real Doll that she couldnt take home. After the art show we split up. The girls went to go find kinky costume’s for Halloween. Brad and I headed to Little 5 points. We went over to Criminal Records and a few other places. Then made it back home.

One of the Giants

Days Later. On October 13th I attended a EMERGE social mixer over at this placed called The Waters. Never heard of it before. In the middle of nowheresland there is this small community that looks like a small town. Reminded me of the Village. It was Luau themed. I didn’t get lay’d tho. Didnt feel like wearin flowers. Had fun though. Saw some friends, made some new ones. Played Beach style volleyball in the dark with lights. Had good food and drinks. Emerge events tend to be pretty fun. Would be a lot better if I wasn’t freaking shy and go talk to random people!! Jeez. I ended up become more of Nerd and got myself an iPhone for my birthday. I likes it!! Did some volunteer work for AUMs Make a Difference Day. Was helping out with lil events for kids. That was fun and interesting. Really good crowd. Look forward to volunteering again someday. That same night was Montgomery’s annual Tavernfest with “craft beer tasting” and live music. Well this event was sponsered by Budweiser, so the only “craft” beer they had was made by Budweiser. I went with my friend Emily and her friends Dennis and girls name who I cannot remember. Bullet Proof Marshmellows were good and the other bands were ok. We left early due to the lame in between act. Went back to her friends place and played Rockband. My first time playing. I had fun, I’d do it again.

MC Chris at the Zydeco

MC Chris at the Zydeco

MC Chris, Totally Michael, Lisa’s Sons. October 30th came along. That thursday night, me, Brad, Jimmy and another guy (jeremy) headed up to the Zydeco to see MC Chris and more. Was a great night. We’d never heard of this first band, Lisa’s Sons. But they ended up being a fun energetic band consisting of 2 guys with mics and some music and running around. Second band was Totally Michael, I heard of him through MC Chris and I really enjoy his music. Another fun energetic singer. MC Chris came up and he was his normalness. Fun, rapping, rants. Great stuff.

Halloween 2008 @ Christie S’s crib. So there was this day called Halloween and I attended this party put on by a friend. I was broke so I spent less than 10 american dollars on some horns and a hat. I was either a Devil Man or Demonic Amish Man. You pick. Head out to Christies place and was there with other freaks, I mean friends. Had a blast. Watched parts of various movies, drank brains, ate different foods. Acted like the normal retarded group. One of the movies that was watched (which I’ve never seen) was the Rocky Horror Picture Show thingamabob. The girls proceeded to do this thing called THE TIME WARP??!? (Watch the video) and that was entertaining. They have a Mini-cade in their home as well, which was cool, first time in many years to play Marvel vs Capcom 2 and still get my ass kicked haha. Towards the end we all got in various cars and paraded over to this guys home to see his decorations, a ginormous UFO, the Creeper guy from jeepers creepers and I think the robot from Lost in Space? Good Stuff.

Early November. Went on another downtown picture trek with Brad. Had fun, saw some cool and random stuff. Went exploring around/inside old buildings of downtown Montgomery. On November 6, my family celebrated my mother’s birthday (Actually on Nov 9) at the traditional birthday spot for the women, Taste Good of Prattville. Ate, talked, took random pictures whether or not people noticed I was taking pictures haha. My brother and I got our Mum a Digital Picture Frame so that she could have random pictures of us and things. The next weekend we had a Family Fish Fry. My Grandpa and Uncle went to Alaska about 2 months ago and went on a fishing trip while they were there. They got nearly 50lbs of Halibut, Salmon and rockfish. They fried just about all of it up the weekend of the 11/15. Man that halibut was soo good fried and grilled, yum!! Home made hush puppies too. Great stuff. Great time with the Family and beyond. Also at work we’re in the slow process of making an intro video for the website using a blue screen, so we’ve been playing with the blue screen.

DragonForce at the Tabernacle

DragonForce at the Tabernacle

Video Game, Battle and Dragon Metal along with a Nerd Convention. I went to Hotlanta with my friend Jimmy on November 21. We left that Friday afternoon and made it down to Hotlanta. Neither of us had cash to pay for parking so we went on a 40something minute trek of getting lost in downtown atlanta search for a stupid bank with an ATM. Never found a bank, found an ATM inside of a store. I backed up traffic so Jimmy could score some money haha. The clerk at the store asked Jimmy if he was scared of him, haha. So we managed to park. Even got the “scenic” route to the Tabernacle by a Bum with alcohol venting from his mouth. By scenic I mean the Bum back way alley/long way around to the Tabernacle. Then he wanted some money for his leading us through this dark alleyway. He got like 13 cents. We got in and POWERGLOVE had already started. That was fun though. They were wearing various forms of styrofoam armor (such as spiked shells and what not). Nothing like getting the crowd to sing GO GO POWER RANGERS!!! haha. The next band was a band I’d never heard of. They were called TURISAS. They are BATTLE METAL. A Finland band consisting of a drummer, singer, bass, guitar, accordion and violin. They were pretty rad. The main event was DRAGONFORCE. They were bad ass. Great show. Even towards the end, they brought up a 6 or 7yr old boy and got him to sing and throw up some horns, was pretty cool. On the way out, we were met by another bum asking if we enjoyed the show and then asking for money.

We stayed the night in Atlanta at the Downtown Atlanta Renaissance. The same hotel where the Atlanta Super Con was being held. Went and got us some midnight pizza and drinks. The next day we headed over to the convention and checked things out. Walked around for a bit and sat down and watched a Q/A session with Brian O’Halloran (from various Kevin Smith movies, Dante from Clerks). That was entertaining. We ended up meeting him after the show and took some pictures. The next Q/A session was awesome. It was with the voice actors of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Just before the session, me and Jimmy were talking and some black guy dressed as a ninja snuck by us and said, “You didnt see me”. Later to find out that this was actually Frylock. This session was great. Got to see some unseen footage of a movie they did along with 2 performances by Le Sexoflex (I like your booty, but I’m not gay) and there was the battle of the Meatwads. After the session we wondered around some more, met some artists. We went for lunch at some place I’d never heard of but apparently its been around for 8o years, Varsity. It’s like a Sonic, but hugerer. Good old greasy food. Mmmm. We ended up leaving the Con that afternoon and went on an adventure searching for Williams Street Productions (where they do adult swim stuff at). We found it, but it was 5pm’sh so we saw it and headed home. We made it.

The Hotel View: We were high up.

Loft Update. Loft has been well. Had some friends over one night, not many showed, but still was entertained. I’ve been there for 4 months now. They have the gate up (not working yet), finally have cable installed for people to use and they put out the patio furniture along with a lame $20 grill for us to use. Speaking of cable, the cable situation is pretty crappy. They are saying we have to pay for the cable that knology hooked up whether we want it or not. Thats $44 a month. There are several tenants including myself who do not want cable. It wasnt in our contract saying we were going to have to pay for cable. Hell there are a few people who do not even own TVs. Cable’s been installed for the past 2 weeks or so maybe (even though they told everyone it would be in by September 26, Foshee’s not real good with deadlines) and I havent even ran coaxial to my tv to use the cable, cause I dont want it. The drop is in a retarded spot anyways, I would have to run about 25ft or so of coxial just to make it to my tv if I wanted cable. I guess next week I’ll find out what they say about cable payment when I give them my rent, cause they’re not getting money from me. I shouldnt be forced to pay for cable if Im not gonna use it or was told before I moved in that i was gonna have to have it. What do you think I should do other than straight up tell them no? Other than the cable issue, I’ve enjoyed living in the loft. Will be even better once they finish the construction on the 22 monroe lofts and get the lot cleaned up.

Well its nearly Turkey Day time. Hope everyone has a good holiday. I hope my retarded throat stops hurting so I can have fun on my 4 day weekend.

Here is a gallery with shots of friends and family: Enjoy or something.
